He’ll want to use your yacht, and I don’t want this thing smelling like fish. Steve Holt! No! I was ashamed to be SEEN with you. I like being with you. Marry me. It’s called ‘taking advantage.’ It’s what gets you ahead in life. I’m a monster. Army had half a day. I don’t criticize you! And if you’re worried about criticism, sometimes a diet is the best defense.

I’m afraid I just blue myself.

15 Apps Like Poshmark To Buy and Sell Clothes

There are a lot of good reasons to get rid of old clothes. Maybe they don’t fit anymore or they’re not your style.

Maybe your kids are growing up and don’t need their old stuff anymore. Or maybe you just need extra room in your closet and are ready to purge rarely worn items.

While decluttering a home is a necessity from time to time, throwing your old clothes away is never a good idea. Instead, you can turn those old clothes into money with apps like Poshmark!

For years, Poshmark has remained one of the best places to sell clothes on the internet. But in recent times, other apps like Poshmark have also become popular online.

These apps and websites connect buyers to sellers of secondhand clothing. Apps like Poshmark help the environment by giving a second life to clothes that would have gone to a landfill otherwise. Plus, they help the sellers make extra cash on clothes that they might have just thrown away!

The Best Sites Like Poshmark

If you want to declutter your home, help the environment, and make some extra cash in the process, here are apps similar to Poshmark you should

1. thredUP

Our first great Poshmark alternative is thredUP. This site features a lot of popular brands sold at discounted prices. Even though they are second-hand clothes, they are still in good condition.

The platform focuses mainly on brand-name clothing, with or without tags. They don’t have to be high-end luxury or designer brands. Think of names like Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger, J.Crew, Lululemon, etc.

Instead of having you sell and mail your clothes directly to buyers, thredUP takes care of that part themselves. You need to request a Clean Out Bag from thredUP, which you’ll use to send your clothes to them.

They will evaluate your items and estimate a price for what your clothes are worth. You can choose to change the listing price that goes on the site, though.

If your clothes are not sold, you can ask for them back or have the platform recycle them. With thredUP, you can save the environment, earn some cash, or both.

2. Vinted

Vinted is one of the largest online clothing communities for fashion. Currently, it operates in 13 countries across Europe, plus Canada and the US. With more than 25 million registered members, Vinted is a market hub for secondhand clothes.

You will find thousands of brands on this free app. If you’re a buyer, you’ll be pleased that many sellers offer low prices!

Listing your used clothes will not cost you a dime. All you need to do is take clear pictures of the clothes, attach a short description to each one, set your price, and hit the buttons to upload; it is that simple.

Once the clothes are sold, Vinted will notify you, so you will have to ship them to the buyer. You will not even be charged a sales commission, which means that you get to keep all the money.

3. Mercari

Commonly called the “Selling App,” Mercari is a legit app for secondhand items. Mercari was the Sellers Choice Award winner in 2019, and has long been a favorite of sellers because of its ease of use.

You can sell or buy just about any secondhand clothes on Mercari, as long as they aren’t fake/replica brands. There are also designer brands sold at cheap prices.

Listing the products is free, but you’ll be charged a commission of 10% of the selling price for any items people end up buying.

4. Tradesy

If you have been buying or selling clothes on Poshmark or any other platform, you may have also heard of Tradesy.

This online store is trendy and an essential marketplace for people to sell or flip secondhand designer and vintage clothing. Many people trust the platform, and users have sold over $1 billion worth of clothes with Tradesy.

You can post images of your clothes, shoes, bags, and other fashion accessories and get paid a good price for them. Instead of wasting your time on marketing, you can use Tradesy to connect you with buyers.

5. Depop

Depop is an online clothing website, but they have an app too. You can buy and sell any type of clothing with Depop, not just big designer names.

What sets Depop apart is its unique shopping experience integrating social features. Not only will you have access to buy and sell on the platform, but you can also see what your friends are buying and selling.

This provides helpful insights and ideas of what to look for. Depop allows you to follow notable influencers in the space so you can follow their favorite trends too.

This website is a social platform for users to connect and exchange clothes for cash. Be inspired by creative influencers and stay on-trend.

6. eBay

We used to recommend a girls-only online fashion store Heroine for selling used clothes but its parent company Grailed decided to close its door and merge it with its main platform.

That’s why I replaced it with aBay. I’m sure if you ever consider selling something then you’re familiar with eBay.

You can sell almost anything there from china dishes and used clothes all the way to broken Apple watches.

7. Grailed

Last on our list of apps like Poshmark is Grailed. This platform caters solely to men and male fashion; they sell both used and new designer clothing. Over the years, it has contributed to a safe environment and boosted male fashion.

The product authentication process of Grailed is strict; that is why users rate it highly. The Grailed platform is specifically for luxury men’s items in good condition.

It’s free to list your items, but they charge a 9% commission rate on sales.

8. The RealReal

Specializing in luxury consignment, this platform is your best bet if you’re looking to part with high-end fashion items and accessories.

They take care of the authentication process, making it easier for both buyers and sellers. You can earn up to 85% of the sale price, which is a nice perk for those expensive pieces.

9. Rebag

Got a designer handbag collecting dust? Rebag offers a hassle-free way to turn it into cash.

They focus solely on high-end bags and offer upfront payment after a quick, expert authentication process. It’s a streamlined alternative for luxury lovers looking to declutter and make some money.

10. Etsy

It’s the go-to platform for handmade, vintage, and unique goods.

While it’s not just for fashion, it’s a great place to reach a global audience eager for something one-of-a-kind where you set your own prices and manage your own inventory.

11. StockX

Unlike other resale platforms, it acts like a stock market for high-demand, limited items. You can buy or sell sneakers, streetwear, and even electronics. What sets it apart is its authentication process, ensuring every item sold is legit.

12. Facebook Marketplace

This social media-based platform offers a goldmine of opportunities and is a great Poshmark alternative.

You can find free clothes that you can resell, and there’s also potential to resell shoes for profit.

Transactions are often local, so it is a quick way to buy and sell and there are many more things you can flip on Facebook marketplace.

13. OfferUp

Just like Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp is another Poshmark competitor worth considering. The platform has a user-friendly interface and allows you to list items quickly, right from your smartphone.

It’s particularly strong for local transactions, as you can easily meet up with buyers to complete a sale. What sets it apart is its rating system, which helps establish trust between buyers and sellers.

With OfferUp, not only can you sell clothes, but you can also expand into selling a wide range of items, from car parts to used prom dresses.

14. Curtsy

An iOS-exclusive app specializing in selling clothes for younger demographics. It is marketed as a sustainable shopping option and offers an easy way to turn your closet into cash.

The app is known for its simplicity in the selling process, offering quick posting of items and instant payouts with low seller fees. It caters especially to Gen Z and millennial users, with a strong focus on thrifting and secondhand fashion.

15. Chairish

An online marketplace for antique, vintage, and used items. It’s a platform where unique pieces are sold, including categories like artwork, furniture, lighting, decor, and more.

Chairish is frequented by designers and collectors looking for hard-to-find items. The site facilitates the sale of these special items, some of which sell quickly due to their uniqueness and demand.

Final Thoughts

These apps like Poshmark make it easy to sell your old unwanted clothes without stress. While some of the apps mentioned in this article will charge a commission on sales, they all allow sellers to list their clothes for free.

Using Poshmark and other similar apps to buy and sell clothing is a smart idea for anyone who wants to save moneyearn spare cash when they declutter, and help out the planet in the process.

Find some free online courses, borrow a camera or rent it for a few days and capture some great shots. Afterward, simply go to one of the sites such as Shutterstock and test your luck with selling your photos as stock images.

Sell video footage

Create your own YouTube channel

If you’ve ever had dreams about being a YouTube star, the good news is that the video opportunities on this platform are never-ending. If you have got something interesting to say, and you manage to find an audience that is willing to listen to your story, only the sky is the limit.

You do need to be at least 13 to open your own YouTube account. Parental permission is also needed if you are under the age 17.  YouTube also does have a minimum number of followers and video view requirements before you can monetize your channel. So be sure to be prepared to build your audience before the profits start coming in.

Run a blog

Having your own blog is not necessarily only good for making money, it’s also a great tool for educating yourself and getting in touch with your feelings.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to sound like some guru, but it’s been scientifically proven that finding a creative outlet is incredibly important for a young person’s brain.

Starting a blog can have a small start-up cost in reserving a domain address and hosting costs. However, once you build your following, there are advertising and other revenue opportunities.

Become a dog walker

kids make money by dog walking

Love dogs? Don’t mind being outdoors and getting some exercise? You can earn extra cash by walking dogs and pet-sitting for friends, family and neighbors.

The job might require some early mornings, but other than that, it’s pretty much smooth sailing. Dog walkers are particularly in demand in larger cities where pet owners may not have their own yard for dogs to get exercise.

Naturally, the only requirement is to feel comfortable around the dogs. Learn how to find dog walking jobs near you.

How to Make Money as a Kid Fast

Here are 14 simple and old-fashioned, yet easy ways for kids to make money fast.

Work in a library

Would you call yourself a bookworm? Perhaps you just like reading science fiction novels from time to time, or you just enjoy the awesome vintage book smell.

Either way, if literature is one of your passions, there is no greater way of earning some pocket money than by helping out in your local library. Many libraries specifically hire teens to help with their children’s programs and events.

The work is not hard, and you will get access to all the books you want. Doesn’t that sound like a win-win situation?

Pick Up Dog Poop

One of the big tasks of dog ownership is cleaning up the business that they leave in the yard. Not all pet owners have the time or the interest in this less-than-pleasant task. However, they are willing to pay someone to do it for them!

With a small investment of gloves and a scooper, you can offer to clean up after your neighbors’ dogs and make money doing it.

Create some flyers or post a listing on Facebook Marketplace offering your services, and be sure to introduce yourself to anyone you see walking their dog.

This service is particularly possible in the spring months when many dog owners need their yards cleaned up after the cold winter.

Newspaper delivery is still around

While it’s true that the newspaper industry has seen better days, it’s a fact that a lot of people still enjoy getting their information from printed sources.

Guess what, those things still need to be delivered, and that’s where kids come into play. Riding around on a bike delivering newspapers may seem obsolete nowadays, but you’d be surprised by just how much in demand it is at all times.

A bit of physical activity never hurts anyone and you can earn money doing it.

Work at a car wash

We all had to wash our dad’s car when we were kids anyway, so why not turn that chore into profit when we already know how to do it?

The only difference is that now, we would get paid for our troubles. Truth be told, this job is as easy as they come, and dirty cars will always be there, so the best thing we can do is to make two ends meet.

Work in an arcade

Love video games? Why not turn your passion into a part-time job? Working in an arcade can be fun, and a great way to get to know others that share your passion.

Lawn mowing

Live in an area with lots of lawns? With a desire to work and a lawn mower, you can earn quick cash while helping out your neighbors.

Many adults don’t have the time, energy or physical ability to care for their own lawns. By offering lawn mowing you can make money and even earn tips too.  Just be sure to focus on doing a good job and being polite and professional.

Serve as a referee for youth sports

Love sports and know all the rules of the game? If you are 16 years or older , you may be able to earn money being a referee for youth sports.

In addition to earning money, being a referee also gives the opportunity to be directly involved in a sport you like.

You might get yelled at from time to time, but hey, some sacrifices have to be made. At the very least, you’ll meet some new people because of it.

Work in a grocery store

Have a grocery store nearby? Working as a bagger, cashier or stocker can be a great part-time job. Many retailers are paying good wages for this type of entry-level position. The growing popularity of delivery services has also opened up more positions as a staff is needed to prepare orders. Learn more about apps like DoorDash here

Babysitting

Are you good with kids? If so, you might make a great babysitter or nanny!  Just because you are young it doesn’t mean that you aren’t perfectly capable of taking good care of the little ones. Most babysitting jobs pay well, and many come with additional perks like free food and activities when you involve the kids.

Doing laundry for people

Laundry day is a pain, but it doesn’t have to be if someone else does it for you. That’s why a lot of people who cannot find the time to perform this chore hire kids to do it instead.

They get perfectly clean clothes, and the kids get some decent pocket money. I think both sides should be more than happy with that arrangement.

Snow shoveling

Snow shoveling is hard work, but it can pay great money if you don’t mind the cold. With a shovel or snowblower, it can be a great way to make money and help your neighbors at the same time.

Run errands for others

Pick up groceries, throw the trash away or paint the garage doors. Each of these errands can take up precious time that busy people just don’t have at their disposal, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have to be done.

If you’ve got plenty of free time on your hands, and you aren’t afraid to get them dirty, you can turn in some decent profit from this line of work.

Provide tutoring

Are you a great student? Have an interest in helping others? If so, you may be able to provide tutoring and help out other kids who are struggling with some classes. Not only that it is good for the soul, but your wallet will also quickly notice the difference as well. Learn more about tutoring jobs for teens.

Work in a Movie Theater

Are you a movie fan? If you’re old enough to meet the minimum employment age for your area, working in a theater can be fun and you can see all the latest releases as well!

Working at a movie theater can be a perfect job for high school kids looking to make some money on the side while doing the stuff they like.  It’s not necessarily related to any time of year either, as cinemas work after school hours, meaning that you can work and take care of all your other obligations at the same time.

Depending on your age, your work hours may be limited to certain times. Check the guidelines for your area or check at the theater for more details.

Household chores

Many people appreciate assistance with regular cleaning and organizing tasks, especially if they have busy schedules. Cleaning duties can include tasks like dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, washing windows, and mopping floors.

By offering to take on these responsibilities, kids can provide a valuable service that saves time and effort for others. Another chore kids can help with is organizing. Many homes have closets, pantries, or storage spaces that could benefit from some tidying up. By assisting with sorting and decluttering items, kids can help create a more organized and efficient living environment.

This can involve categorizing items, rearranging shelves, or finding storage solutions to maximize space. Laundry tasks can also be a great opportunity for kids to earn money. Sorting clothes, folding, and ironing are tasks that can quickly pile up for individuals or families with busy lives.

Kids can offer their assistance in managing these laundry duties, making the process more manageable for those who may be overwhelmed by a large amount of laundry.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking to make money as a kid, the good news is that it is easier than you think. There are lots of options for making extra cash even if you’re not quite old enough to get a part-time job.

How I Grew My YouTube Channel From 0 to 100,000 in Less Than 2 Years

So, you want to start a successful YouTube channel?

I started in 2015 and since then it has grown to over 300k subscribers on YouTube and it went from a hobby to a full-time job for me.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Luka, just a normal guy who finished architecture school, but failed to enroll in the University of my choice due to a lack of credentials, and decided to search for a way to make money online.

The origins It all began back in 2012 when still lots of people didn’t care all that much about Adsense and the concept of online business, let alone using Youtube as a way to make extra money!

After finding out that one of my friends started making some serious cash from a similar career, I decided to pursue it!

The first thing I did was get in touch with him, in order to ask some questions about the small nuances that made the whole thing possible.

We had a long Skype conversation where he explained everything from how to make a Youtube channel, Adsense profile, and ultimately, how to turn it into a profit and now I am gonna tell you how to make a successful Youtube channel.

Contents [show]

How to Start a Successful YouTube Channel

What Doesn’t Work (or How To Kill Your Channel Early)? First, let me tell you what doesn’t work or how to kill your channel early (learn from my mistakes).

Attempt 1 in Growing a YouTube channel

The following day, on February 8th, 2012, I began the whole operation, by opening my first Youtube account. I had the channel all to myself and Adsense profile setup and ready to go, so I began to wonder where should I begin?

What is the content that’s gonna draw the most viewers, and more importantly, put more cash in my pockets! I took the path of least resistance (or so I thought at the time) and decided to make funny fail complications, but I also “borrowed“ content from other channels. Naturally, due to several copyright claims, Youtube shut down my channel, but it gave me a good idea of how many views I’ll need to get in order to gain money.

Back then, the CPC and RPM were significantly better than they are now, and you could earn a decent profit from 100,000 views.

Attempt 2 in creating a Youtube channel

Can you guess what it was? Yep, none other than a Music channel, which I created on September 18th, 2012. It worked to my advantage that some bigger music publishers didn’t have their own official channels at the time and that the content was spread all across the web.

Subscribe to Dollar Sanity!

Get updates on the latest posts and more from Dollar Sanity straight to your inbox.SubscribeI consent to receiving emails and personalized ads.

I downloaded the content from over 1000 channels and uploaded it one by one. I worked on one song at a time, making lyrics video in the process, and honestly, it was like taking candy from a baby.

After a while, my channel started growing exponentially, with some of the songs reaching over a million views, and I ended up receiving my first „MAJOR“ paycheck (which amounted to $300).

Sure, that might sound laughable to some, but considering that I was 17 at the time, I was doing pretty well in my book. The income steadily grew over the next couple of months, reaching $600, and that lead me to believe this was the start of something great!

The crash and newly found determination

One morning I woke up, and much to my surprise, I failed to log into my account time and time again! THE CHANNEL WAS SHUT DOWN! I never even received a single email of warning, and it was all gone.

Due to my copyright strikes and the fact that one major publisher decided to open their own channel, all the content was suddenly made unavailable. When you get used to the good life, and a steady $500+ income coming your way every month without moving a finger, plus you’re only 17 years old, and all get taken from you in an instant…

I felt like I was run over by a train.

After trying out a couple of similar feats, failing miserably each time, I started to lose my will to pursue it any further. I searched for my place under the sun elsewhere, finishing school and working a part-time job as a waiter.

Still, this was grueling, and I came to a realization that I’m not made for that lifestyle. Work my butt off in college, only to work for someone else my entire life? Nope, that’s not how it was going to end.

This time, the outcome will be different! I’ll invest 100% of my efforts to make a Youtube career, and whether it took me 5 or even 10 years, I’ll come out on top!

What not to do if you want to grow your YouTube channel?

  • Do not steal other people’s content, make your own. YouTube will find you and terminate your channel and worst case, somebody can sue you for stealing intellectual property.
  • Do not buy views. If the views are poor quality or low retention or coming from blacklisted sources, you’ll more likely get your video banned rather than ranked. Btw, traffic isn’t always good – focus on quality traffic that converts well, not just numbers. I don’t see the point of spending money to get millions of views that are not even monetizable.
  • Never do Sub4Sub. You don’t want a subscriber with no intentions of watching your videos. This strategy will leave you with a significant amount of subscribers that won’t watch your videos when you upload them, your CTR and your views to subscriber ratio will be really bad and the YouTube algorithm will see your content as low-quality content.

How to Get Your Youtube Channel Out There

YouTube success is about planning and timing. Here are the exact steps I made to create a successful YouTube channel and you should follow them if you want to succeed on YouTube.

Determine your niche

Among many interesting topics, lifestyle and gameplay were the most popular ones, but that really wasn’t my area of expertise. I decided to forge my own path, and do something never seen before in Serbia, a Do It Yourself channel!

Since I always excelled in the creative areas of work and considering I graduated from architecture school, it was tailor-made for me. I named it „Kucni Trikovi“ which roughly translates to „Lifehacks“. Tip: Focus on one niche, don’t be all over the place if you talk to everybody you talk to nobody. Try and make a unique idea that people want to see, but still can be made frequently.

Define Your Audience

This is one of the most important steps you have to do before you even start your YouTube channel. When you ask new Youtubers who is their target audience, 90% of them will tell: Everybody, I have entertaining content that anyone can watch.

Newsflash: WRONG!

It is really important to understand your target audience and what you can offer to them. Start by researching other successful channels in your niche, subscribe to them and determine a specific group of people who are watching that kind of video.

See what people like to watch in your niche, see what’s trending, stay up to date on what everyone else is talking about and make those videos. Find subscribers of those channels outside of YouTube, in Facebook groups, Google+, Instagram as they are interested in your topic and they are potentially your subscribers and viewers of your videos.

Promote but do not spam and use these groups for research on future topics for videos.

Create an appealing YouTube channel art and profile icon

Invest in channel design (you can hire a designer from Fiverr for cheap). This is the first thing people will see when they land on your channel. Youtube channel art for your channel is the same as the cover photo for your Facebook profile. The profile icon is the photo that shows next to your videos and channel on YouTube watch pages.

Make sure your channel art is appealing to visitors. It creates the visitor’s’ first impression and many will make a subconscious judgment based on what they find here.

Create Quality Content

Maybe I’m preaching to the choir, but it’s so true. Thumbnails can draw the viewers in, but quality content will turn them into subscribers.

Due to my previous experience with Youtube, I know that the audience is expecting a complete package, so in time, start to perform voice-overs.

One tip I can also give you is to keep an eye out for current trends, as Youtube has specific algorithms which push video with currently interesting topics to the top, just make sure you put your own spin on it, be different enough to separate yourself from the rest of the crowd.

For instance, those were the fidget spinners in recent memory. Look at your videos from the viewer’s perspective.

What videos would you click on?

Spend some time researching SEO, tags, keywords, use the TubeBuddy extension…and most of your viewers and subscribers will come from the YouTube search and via suggested videos.

In short: be remarkable. It’s not enough to post weekly videos, you need to convey your content in an engaging and entertaining format that separates you from the crowd. The biggest sin on YouTube is to be boring.

How to gain an audience on YouTube?

How to get big on YouTube?

You might be wondering, what’s a good place to start? Most people overlook one fact: YouTube is the second largest social media network, right after Facebook.

There is an existing community on YouTube and some of those people don’t even have profiles on other social networks.

Don’t waste your time trying to get someone from another network who never watches YouTube to watch you, when there are people who already watch YouTube and follow YouTubers.

Now, when you understand that YouTube is a community, not just a place to host your videos you should start to interact with the other members of this community and start working on a bit of self-promotion by commenting on other videos in your niche (perhaps include a few humorous remarks, so that your comment reaches the top where it can be seen by a lot of people).

Commenting on other people’s videos will have a major impact on the number of views your videos and profile receive

With commenting you make about 50 subs a day on average, additional to the “normal” gain. Be careful, spammy comments are very risky. If you get flagged, you´ll be “shadow/ghost-banned” for an uncertain time.

At this moment you think everyone can read your comments, but no one else except you can really. This happens also, if you comment too much, or if you do not really watch the videos and comment within the first seconds.

This happened once to me, and so I wasn´t able for a few days to comment seriously. I guess I´ll comment about 5-10 videos a day (1-4 an hour).

Instead of being spammy, my tricks were to be fast to comment after you publish your video, to be funny AND to like the comment yourself so you stay a moment longer at the top comments for other viewers to read and like it, too.

Don’t forget to comment on other users’ comments on the videos in your niche. People like to be noticed and probably they will be curious about, visit your channel, watch some videos and eventually subscribe.

Other YouTubers in your niche are not your competitors! They are and they will be your most loyal fans.

Connecting with other YouTubers in my niche, via their YouTube videos and social media, enabled me to make reciprocal relationships. They would share my content with their audience and that was the turning point for my channel.

How to do it?

  1. Type your keyword in YouTube’s search bar
  2. Go to “Filter” on the top and “Sort By” column. Then click on “Upload Date” and select the most recent videos
  3. Choose a video you like that relates to your niche. Watch it, comment it and share it with your audience

Trust me, that YouTuber will do the same for you!

Promote your videos on other platforms

Facebook also offers a ton of opportunities, where you can share some of your videos to attract the audience. Share the content with your friends, and perhaps ask them if they could do the same. Do you know someone who has a big number of Instagram followers? Go ahead and ask them for a favor. Even if you get a negative response from that person, what’s the worst that can happen?

Create Engaging Thumbnails

My advice would be to always design 3 or 4 thumbnails and ask some of your friends which would they click on first. In my experience, this works like a charm. If your thumbnails suck, many won’t click on your video if it isn’t relevant or attractive. At the end of a day thumbnails (and title) will determine your CTR. If your thumbnail fails to capture your viewer’s attention, then you have failed. You can use TubeBuddy’s Thumbnail Generator to create thumbnails and save your precious time.

YouTube SEO

Trust me, none of your videos will go viral (you can forget about that), none of the bigger YouTubers will shout you out (don’t waste your time contacting them), you are on your own and you have to utilize the YouTube algorithm and try to get your videos shown in the suggested videos of popular YouTubers, and get your videos at the top of semi-popular or long-tail search terms. Some basic tips for SEO:

  • use the main keywords in the title
  • use a 5,000 character limit in the description (use your keywords)
  • create playlists around your main keywords
  • meta tags (use relevant tags)

How do I do it? First I SEO friendly title with main keywords. Then, once again in tags, I add the keywords from the title, and several long-tail tags combinations using my main keywords. Then, if I have some extra space left in the tags, I will add other relevant keywords that aren’t suitable for the title, and last but not least I use the “description section” to support the other keywords related to the video.

How to find (see) Competitors tags on any YouTube video

In the video watch page, press “CTRL+U” to open the source code page, then click “CTRL+F” on your keyboard to open a search box, type “keywords” in the search box, hit Enter twice and voila there they are…tags for your competitor’s video.

If you don’t want to do that every time then use Tube Buddy which has a built-in tag viewing function that will come up for every video on your screen. Do not just copy the tags from the competitor video. If you do it, your video will be a view feeder for that competitor’s video.

YouTube is the world’s second-largest search engine and SEO is a huge issue so you should pay attention to it. Tube Buddy is one of the best tools out there that helps you with YouTube SEO.

SEO is the only way to get your videos to the top of search terms and in the suggested videos section.

Do some keyword research and take those tags seriously. Tube Buddy allows you to search for keywords for tags and it’ll tell you their search volume and the competition volume.

How to get YouTube subscribers

Now, when you have an audience, viewers of your channel it is time to turn them into subscribers. It is quite obvious what is the biggest thing with grabbing subscribers so make sure that you have really, I mean really high-quality content. If your content sucks people won’t really care.

Subscribers are the main asset of your YouTube channel and as soon as you post a new video, the majority of your subscribers will watch it right away and you will have those initial views which are most important for the YouTube algorithm.

If your videos are good enough, then most people will do subscribe on their own but still, I never assume that my viewer can read my mind and I like to ask for likes and subscriptions at the end of the video and so should you.

Add the subscription button “click here to subscribe” to encourage users to subscribe  – the key is to make it as easy as possible.

Likes are very important. The more likes (and dislikes :))you get, the more engagement your video will have. The higher the engagement, the more Youtube’s algorithm will promote your video and suggest to other people.

As a result, you will get more viewers and hopefully more subscribers. You can use this simple trick to increase YouTube subscribers.

Trick to get more YouTube subscribers

Simply add “?sub_confirmation=1” to the end of your channel URL and you will have this URL form http://www.youtube.com/user/XXXXX?sub_confirmation=1. XXXX is your channel ID. You can share this link on social media, blogs, forums, or in emails.

You can run Giveaway or PayOff

Post your goal in public, you can use your Facebook profile and this simple step-by-step process of the “subscriber payoff method”:

  • Tell them your current number of subscribers (e.g., 100 subscribers)
  • Tell the world your goal (e.g., 200 subscribers)
  • Choose something fun, interesting, unique or different that you will do once you reach 200 subscribers (e.g., shave your head, do a funny thing in public do a crazy dance on video, a free giveaway, embarrass yourself, or whatever)

This is a great way to spread the word about you and your channel with little effort and having a fun time doing it. People love this kind of stuff, they will jump on board to support you and help you accomplish your goals.

Comment your own video

Comments are another indicator of engagement. Encourage commenting by posting your own comment in the form of a question when you release a video. Once again…more engagement = more views + more subscribers.

Tip: Comment on every single comment. When doing this drop keywords in the responses and your video will start indexing in google for those keywords – this obviously drives more traffic.

Do the hard work with video engagement early on

Do the hard work with engagement early on to get a “snowball” on the channel. At the beginning or start of your channel, you should be doing all the legwork to bring an audience to your channel.

After a while of YT indexing your channel and seeing real engagement coming to your channel, they will start pushing your content, you can see quick results in a matter of days, doesn’t matter if they send you 5 views, at least it was suggested.

That’s a good sign already, you will slowly get your new content among the suggested videos and it will grow on its own as long you stay consistent with your uploads. That’s when the snowball effect comes into play

How can I get my YouTube video suggested on some popular videos

With trial and error method. Optimize your videos properly with relevant tags related to targeted videos. Stay consistent with your uploads, the more you upload the more chances are that one video will take off.

Is starting a YouTube channel profitable business

Sure, it’s like any business. You can make tons of money opening a bar, restaurant, photography business, with Amazon business, etc. But most don’t.

Having a  video that earns a few bucks here and there doesn’t seem like much when you publish each one.  But when you have hundreds of them, each one becomes one of the hundreds of little “workers” for your budget over time.

Once you get there, even if you don’t publish another video ever, you can expect to earn $$$ completely passively from royalties.

The beauty of this is that those videos will keep earning you money if you never spend another minute on it but you should know that the Adsense = small potatoes.

The pay is horrible, for the same amount of views you can earn 3-4 times more elsewhere.

The real money is owning and promoting your own stuff rather than relying on AdSense. You can do affiliate links, product placement…depending on your niche.

Don’t worry, advertisers will contact you themselves once you reach 50k subscribers.

My final words on How to Create A Successful YouTube Channel

When my channel started to grow, and I adapted accordingly. Furthermore, I always kept a good communication flow with my viewers through social media platforms. This is absolutely vital if you want to build a strong community.

If I wanted to put everything into a short summary, I realized that success isn’t going to come overnight, and in order to become great, I’d have to work hard and make some sacrifices.

At the start, it’s a rough go and it’s hard to stay motivated when no one is watching you. With a bit of luck and most importantly, patience, everything will come around eventually.

If you already gained a huge number of subscribers, it’s important to connect with them and create a community.

You can ask questions through the videos, respond to their comments, or even read some of the highest-ranked ones during the video.

Speaking of community, there’s no better way to maintain it than by creating a popular Facebook and Instagram profiles. In that way, you can design specific polls regarding the content, and that can provide valuable insight.

Another important thing is the average length of your videos. Your goal should always be to force the viewers to watch the content for as long as possible.

It’s no secret that YouTube promotes videos and channels with a large amount of total watch time. The longer the video, the more income you’re gonna generate.

WARNING, don’t go too far. Statistics show that the optimal time for a video length is 5-10 minutes.

Similar to any other business, Youtube has its ups and downs. Because the algorithms are changing every couple of months, the income is gonna fluctuate, but the most important thing is to remain active!

As for me, I’m currently still into my channel „Lifehacks“, which allowed me to meet some great people, and also opened up other business opportunities as well. Honestly, I love my job, and wouldn’t change it for the world!

Ultimately, if you’re satisfied with working in a desk job, it’s your choice, but if you always wanted to find out what else is out there, don’t be afraid and take a chance!

Take it from me, if you put enough time and effort, anything’s possible. Pick your favorite topic, invest the time, and 200% effort, and you’ll reach the top. Remember, creativity starts with self-belief!

Netflix Tagger

Besides many other options in which you can earn money watching movies on Netflix, there is also an option of working for Netflix itself.

This position comes with a fancy title and everything.

The only thing that somebody who enjoys watching Netflix earns is the satisfaction of consuming their favorite show. However, that cannot be said for a Netflix tagger.

Netflix tagger’s job is to watch movies and shows on Netflix, and later on, input words and phrases that describe the video they watched the best.

These inputs improve Netflix’s search mechanism by providing a more accurate result.

Some of the requirements to be hired as a Netflix tagger are:

  • Analytical mind (If you think that Sopranos can be rated as safe for children, then this job probably isn’t for you)
  • Knowledge of the film industry

The only downside of this job is that Netflix employs only about 40 taggers at any given moment – so the competition is probably going to be a bit stiff.

Start A Movie Review Blog

The best way to do this is to choose a movie category that you love watching most and start writing only about that category.

There are numerous ways in which you can profit from blog writing. From displaying ads for companies like Adsense or Adskeeper to selling your own merchandise.

If your blog really hits it off you will probably be contacted by a movie company to start writing positive blogs about their new releases.

To conclude, there are many different ways to earn some extra dough by watching movies on Netflix, you just have to figure out which one suits you best and start binging!

Write Reviews or Recaps

Start a YouTube channel where you review or recap shows and movies. Once you gain a following, you can monetize through ads, sponsorships, or affiliate marketing. This takes time to build up, but it’s a way to combine your love for Netflix with content creation.

Data Entry or Analysis While Watching

Out of the box idea. Look for remote data entry or analysis jobs that don’t require your full attention. You can do this work while watching Netflix, effectively getting paid for both activities at the same time.

Become a Professional Critic or Entertainment Writer

If you have good writing skills and a deep understanding of film and TV, you can become a critic or entertainment writer. This could start as a side hustle and grow into a full-time career.

Social Media Influencer

If you’re active on social media, you can try becoming an influencer who focuses on Netflix content. Share your opinions, reviews, and recommendations on Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok.

Once you build a sizable audience, you might attract sponsorships or paid promotions from brands related to entertainment.

Virtual Movie Night Host

Organize virtual movie nights or show-watch parties. You can charge a small fee for organizing and hosting these events.

Podcasting

Start a podcast where you discuss and analyze Netflix shows and movies. As your listener base grows, you can monetize through sponsorships, advertisements, and perhaps even fan donations via platforms like Patreon.

Create a Netflix Fan Page or Subreddit

Build a community for Netflix enthusiasts. Monetize the page affiliate marketing (like promoting TV-related products).

Teaching or Tutoring

If you’re knowledgeable in film studies or scriptwriting, use Netflix content as teaching material. Offer online courses or tutoring sessions analyzing the storytelling, cinematography, or production of Netflix shows and movies.

Freelance Writing

Write articles about Netflix content for entertainment websites or magazines. This could range from reviews and opinion pieces to in-depth analysis of shows and movies.

$1 Million in Revenue on Amazon with Zero Employees

There’s so many scammy How to sell on Amazon courses, so I thought I’d contribute really helpful content, that will help you get your feet wet and learn how to sell on Amazon using FBA.

I’m mostly selling on Amazon, and a bit on Shopify. Everything goes through Amazon FBA, so I’m able to travel full-time.

This year, I’m at $1M on Amazon alone.

My story begins way back in 2009, when I was just a college graduate who had no real plans for the foreseeable future.

Still, entrepreneurship is something that came naturally to me, and I sincerely hope I’ll be able to keep hammering away at it throughout the rest of my livelihood.

It all began at the University of Florida, where my first gig was selling football tickets. As a scrawny white kid, I definitely stood out from the crowd, that’s for sure.

Surprisingly, it turned out to be the best therapy for a boy like me. In my opinion, every entrepreneur should pass through rejection therapy, in order to learn how to deal with refusal.

After I graduated, I migrated to websites like TicketMaster and Stubhub.com, where I continued buying and selling tickets. You’d be surprised to hear just how interesting this job is, and if you’re really good at supplying the demand, you’ll never run out of business.

The problem is, it’s quite repetitive, and after a while, you simply get bored with re-entering the captcha time and time again. Perhaps the biggest issue for me personally was not providing people with real value, something I now take pride in.

This tedious business was started to get to me, so I switched lanes, booked a cheap flight and visited a friend in China. After 6 weeks, I went back home and obviously, had to come back with some souvenirs and gifts for the ones closest to me.

Among the various gadgets, one particular watch garnered the most attention, as people simply couldn’t stop asking about it.

Out of sheer curiosity, I contacted my friend from China once again (who worked there as an English teacher at the time) and he found the supplier.

I believed that a wealthy partner/investor is the way to go, so I reached out to my only wealthy friend for a $4,000 investment, and we got an arrangement to be 50/50 partners. The watches went for only $3, so I order 800 pieces, and spent about $3,000 for my own website.

Lesson 1 Don’t spend over $300 on your first web presence

After I invested a mad sum of cash into that website, I decided to ditch it and create one on Shopify by myself instead. Trust me, It’s super easy, and I guarantee you’ll be able to pull it off. My initial price was set at $65.

Lesson 2 Price high

Although it may sound counterintuitive to some, this is the right choice. With a better clientele, more space for wholesale/distributors, fewer returns, and a bigger perceived value, it comes with no drawbacks.

Fun was always the goal of my brand. I tried my best to please the customers by throwing down awesome contests, have cool photoshoots, and such, and it resulted in a pool of satisfied buyers.

By pure luck, I got to meet a Groupon rep, and we agreed upon a deal. At the time, Groupon was primarily a website for food, and my watches were one of the first products out there.

Sales numbers were good, so they included my brand in the Black Friday national deal. In only 3 days, more than 7,000 of my ’deals’ were sold! Unfortunately, my Chinese supplier turned out to be a trading company, and there was no way we could supply the demand-based only on his ’credit’.

Man, that was a hard blow for me, as the entire deal nearly went down the drain, and with it, my business as well. Only about 70% of orders were completed successfully, and others got refunds, but I got a ton of hate, as I basically ruined so many people’s Christmases.

Incredibly, Groupon somehow paid me the full amount, despite the fact I failed to fulfill around 2,000 orders. In case you were wondering, the name of my company was TIKKR, but it’s not in business anymore. Who knows, maybe I’ll get back to it one day.

The sad truth was, I saw that my empire didn’t have a bright future, as there were 50 companies that sold the exact same watch as I did. Among them, Walgreens was selling it for only $4.99 at the time, albeit without a brand name.

I struggled for some time, as watches simply weren’t of the highest quality, and I was spending big bucks on returns and warranties. Ultimately, I needed a fresh start, but my inspiration was lacking. I cannot recall just how it came about, but suddenly, I realized that bamboo sunglasses were becoming a thing.

Back in 2012, I found myself in Chicago, the home of Groupon headquarters. My friends from China reached out to me, proposing we start a joint project once again. Through a friend who worked at Groupon, I was able to get access to their sales floor, and I simply chatted with people until I got in touch with a girl who was selling fashion accessories.

Lesson 3 Always stay in the game and hope for your big break

After some negotiation, we agreed on a deal, and I needed to prepare 10,000 units for sales on a national level. We were somehow able to gather $180,000 between 3 partners, the Groupon insider, friends from China, and me, using most of TIKKR money and a big loan from the Bank of Mom!

Our business plan was fairly straightforward.

The guys from China were in charged with production, I handled marketing and branding, and the Groupon dude was, well, the Groupon dude.

The name Woodies sounded awesome to me, but I first had to buy rights to Woodies.com from a Canadian fellow, who was using it to sell hockey stick chairs. In case you were wondering, I got the idea from vintage Woodie station wagons which had a frame made from wood.

Due to my obsession with Ashley Sky, I wanted to hire her for the photoshoot, and I also rented a few awesome rides for this purpose as well.

Although she had 100k Instagram followers, she only asked $600 for a day of a photoshoot, which in my mind was a deal made in heaven.

After the Groupon sale went live, we only sold 4,000 instead of 10,000 units.

Lesson 4 Keep a positive attitude but stay realistic with your forecasts

Wanna hear a crazy story?

I cannot recall how many time thought I had a world breaking deal on my hands, just to see it vanish in an instant. Even the deals which were mildly successful weren’t as rewarding as I originally hoped for. It struck me that I was living out a story from the Old Man and the Sea.

I was landing huge deals, but after I completed the job, I was left with only a small part of my initial fortune. Problems with warranties, customer service and fees, shipping costs, and other expenses quickly add up.

One thing leads to another, and due to our ’poor’ sales numbers, my suppliers from China ran into their own financial hardships. Eventually, the Groupon guy and I took over their part of the business out of sheer necessity.

Not everything was bad, though. After paying off our friends from China, we were left with a $140,000 capital base. We knew that our business had massive potential, but we were still unable to cope with a big order, so we turned to Kickstarter, which was really just starting to blow up at the time.

I decided to go big and planned to hire Kendall Jenner for this campaign. It took a long time, but I was eventually able to contact her modeling agency and get in touch with her direct manager.

Their asking price was set at $100,000 for a single day! I tried to create a Pinterest board and send it her, asking if she could drop the price down to $25,000 including a ton of incentives, and to my amazement, she said YES!

After wrapping my head around that number, I realized that we could get a return for our money, but we had to raise a lot of funds from our Kickstarter campaign.

I hired Kendall Jenner, Ashley Sky, Aygemang Clay, Damaris Aguiar, Lyall Aston was a photographer, Sagette Van Embden was responsible for video production, the styling was done by Lina Palacios and Mary Guthrie handled hair and makeup.

The production was so insane, that I was simply in awe. By using Southwest Airlines buddy passes, I decided to fly everyone down to Malibu, CA. Most of these incredibly hot girls never encountered this form of travel, I can guarantee that much!

All the time, I was sweating bullets, hoping that everything works out for the best. I endured a lot of stress during those days.

Lesson 5 Don’t put yourself down

In entrepreneurship, you’ve got to be ready to keep on fighting, and embrace the challenges. I’m not gonna lie, there was plenty of time where I thought the competition would eat me alive, and I was nothing more than a ’pretender’.

However, be aware that the best tactics were always fake it til you make it! Still, let’s get back to the story. I rented a van and an HQ in Malibu through Airbnb.

Looking back on it now, I can’t help myself but laugh.

Imagine driving big shots like Kendall Jenner, Damaris Aguiar, Ashley Sky, and some of my friends in a rental van across Malibu!

To make matters worse, we were kinda late, so I had to push the pedal to the metal, so that got me scolded by Kendal’s manager, as I was driving too fast.

Oh yeah, I was also wearing a captain’s all the time, because that was my thing back in the day. Fun times. Although Kendall agreed with my Kickstarter campaign, the results were pretty underwhelming.

I was only able to raise like $30,000 and had about $70,000 spent in investments. In hindsight, I don’t think I’d go through this ordeal again.

Luckily for me, Kendall became a huge celebrity, so it raised a lot of recognition for my brand as well. Additionally, because her management let me write the contract, I basically have rights to those photos and video material forever.

What a win!

It only took a single tweet from Kendall, and I grew my number of email subscribers by 20,000, which turned out to be a steady source of revenue ever since.

When it comes to the business side of things, the income is seasonal, with peaks throughout the summer and Christmas season.

Woodies evolved a lot during the years, starting from watches to expensive sunglasses, with business going from big to boom. Another good boost came from selling on Amazon, which was sorta surprising. At the time, I was running on fumes, barely taking any paychecks, and actually had to move back in with my mom in Tulsa.

Other than a few Bitcoins, I had zero savings and spent my days traveling the world. During this time, my entrepreneurship came down to a few epic wins, and more than a few moderate losses.

Still, this was an exciting journey, as I got to travel the globe, mingle with gorgeous models, perform creative tasks, and improve myself as a person overall.

Ultimately, it proved to be a valuable lesson, and I would hardly change a thing.

Before I forget, let me mention some of the techs I used up to this point:

  • Amazon FBA and Shipwire (Amazon trumps it in every aspect)
  • All Google platforms such as Gmail, Analytics, Google Forms, Google Drive
  • Shopify and Xero for E-commerce and accounting
  • Fiverr to improve overall product reviews
  • Alibaba for connecting with suppliers. Remember to keep in touch and invest in this relationship as much as possible
  • Mailchimp as a tool for email marketing. In my case, this worked out the best

Important things I’ve learned:

  • International shipping and wholesale business aren’t worth the effort, as they are both time-consuming and offer small rewards in return. Until you make it big, you might want to stick to domestic clientele.
  • Always start small and test the market first, before you decide to splurge big bucks.
  • Data management and accounting systems are vital, so pay close attention here, as it might come in handy when you least expect it.
  • Shout-out to my friend and ex-employee Joanna, who motivated me to work harder and always had great business ideas. When you’re hiring personnel, always go for the best option, friendship favors will get you nowhere fast.

Naturally, there were a couple of loose ends I had yet to take care of, including:

  • Taxes
  • Customer service management (answering those boring emails is so tiring)
  • CRM such as Salesforce (although I’m not sure this is actually necessary)

When it comes to services, there are more than a few worth mentioning.

Seriously, just now I’m starting to realize how many of these damn things I really use. Might as well cancel a few in the future, LOL.

Either way, here it goes.

After 5 years of doing business with Woodie, I started to get a grip on things. With no partners or employees around, I am my own boss. This allows me to control my business, down to the slightest nuances.

However, there’s only so much time in a day, and these services can be a lifesaver. Automation has truly taken things to another level.

Me traveling the whole time

Shopify: Alpha and Omega of the eCommerce space

Shopify apps: Make an offer: Pop-up which allows buyers to offer a bid for the product of their desire. They give their email address in the process, which I use to send them a discount code with Zapier and later fetch them to Mailchimp.

Login with Amazon: Although 60% of all traffic comes from mobile, checkouts only account for about 20%. Why is that? It’s actually a simple reason, it’s much harder to enter your personal info this way. This terrific app allows them to use their Amazon account, as well as choose their payment method and address.

ShopiMap: Every customer gets pinned, along with their orders. It’s perfect for social proof.

Yotpo: When I got them, the prices started at $30 per month, but the value has skyrocketed these days to $300! This fantastic app automatically sends review requests and showcases them on product pages. CovetPics: A simple Instagram plugin which is used to design a collage from my photos. Honestly, this app may be a bit redundant these days.

Spently: Default confirmation emails from Shopify and terribly boring and plane, but Spently bring fun into the equation. Shout to Nick!

Compass.Co: Number one eCommerce analytics, as far as I’m concerned. Not only that it pulls tons of information I never even knew existed, but it also organizes it all it a super neat way.

Amazon: My primary sales platform, which accounts for more than 60% of my overall sales.

Customer Service: An integral part of any business. Fortunately for me, my mom is hired for this part of the job. Although my mom is busy, you can test your luck on a website called HireMyMom. That’s a real place guys, laugh all you want.

Greetings to moms across the globe, though, you are awesome! AmazonFBA: 100% of my products are dealt with through this great service. They receive, store, pack and ship out all of my products. It allows me to live as a full-time traveler, and it made the logistics so much simpler. Amazon Affiliates: There are tons of individuals who use Amazon Prime as their primary service, and honestly, I completely get that.

At the end of the day, free shipping is a welcomed bonus. Because of that, each of my product pages includes a link to my product listings on Amazon, and through affiliate links, I’m able to gather around 1% of the order. Ultimately, it only adds up to about $100 per month, but why throw that away.

Amazon apps:

  • FeedbackGenius: Because reviews are an integral part of Amazon business, this app is a definite must-have. It sends auto-feedback pop-ups to thousands of orders on a daily basis. Trust me, this is absolutely essential.
  • HelloProfit: After I reviewed what this app had to offer, I went ahead and canceled my subscription. Paying $79 per month to clean up a report of Amazon simply seemed like a rip-off.
Me traveling the whole time

Websites:

  • Cloudflare: I guess it’s supposed to make my website run smoother for $20 per month, but honestly, I haven’t got a clue how this actually works. Care to enlighten me?
  • Typeform: It’s a service I use to gather info from giveaways.
  • Zapier: Works really well with the previously mentioned service. I use it to transfer data from one service to another, for example, from Gmail to Typeform, later on to Google Docs and MailChimp, before finally ending with Shopify.
  • GoDaddy: Maybe not your best choice, but it works OK, and hey, how about that catchy name?

Task Management:

Gmail: I do my best to check it as often as possible, at least two times a day. If only I could ever reach Inbox Zero…

Pro Tip: There are tons of interesting Gmail keyboard shortcuts you should learn

Pro Tip 2: Go to Gmail Settings and enable Send+Archive option on automatic.

Inbox Pause: Most people tend to finish tough tasks first, but somehow always find a way to answer 3 or 4 short emails simultaneously. The Inbox Pause stops this nasty habit from the get-go.

Trust me, it will increase your productivity by a long shot.

Trello: As I strive towards achieving Inbox Zero, I always have a couple of rules at hand:

  • If it’s possible to answer in a minute or two, go for it
  • Anything over that time limit goes into Trello as a task

Gmail Timer Logs: A timer automatically starts upon opening a new mail.

Me traveling the whole time

Chrome Extensions:

  • LastPASS: Saves previous passwords, automatic login as well as form-fills all payment methods. A quick tip: make sure not to lose your card, or you’re gonna have to reset all of your passwords once again, which is excruciating.
  • Block Site: One of the best website blockers out there. It’s extremely simple, and works every time, what more could you ask?
  • The Great Suspender: I have a nasty habit of leaving 15-20 tabs open at all times. This extension suspends the background tabs, which makes the one I use to run faster.
  • AMZ Seller Browser: Allows me to check out the Sales rank of Amazon and Price History, which is extremely important, to keep the competition in check.
  • Alexa Traffic & Similarweb: Enables me to quickly check out loading speeds, as well as how much traffic a specific site gets.
  • OpenVid: A brilliant way to record a screencast, which will help you get in touch with designers on a moment’s notice.

Product development:

Alibaba: This is still my go-to website for finding new products.

The only thing you need to do is email the suppliers, and ask them for a reply. Not only that it eliminates Alibaba’s complicated message delivery system, but it also excludes the suppliers who aren’t able to follow basic instructions.

Whatsapp: For some weird reason, Chinese suppliers prefer texting over email. Bring them to Whatsapp and establish good communication from the start.

Flexport: This terrific extension simplifies international freight forwarding. Not sure they are accepting new members, though.

Upgraded images: If you want photography that trumps the competition, this is the best option.

Speedy Barcodes: Place where I buy barcodes which I later use on Amazon.

Marketing:

Schedugram: It schedules Instagram posts in advance. Helped me out a bunch of times. Repost: Reposts other people’s photos, specifically those that have Woody tags in ’em.

Instagram and Snapchat: Two absolute kings in the social media game. In case you’re interested, my Instagram is WoodiesCaptain as well as WoodiesIG.

Mailchimp: For the previous 4 years, Mailchimp has been my go-to for sending emails. To be fair, my emails are fairly straightforward, so I might consider a downgrade. Oh yeah, I also use Klaviyo, as it’s integrated with Shopify.

Apps:

TripIt: Because I live the life of a nomad, this app keeps track of my itineraries.

F.lux: Dims the screen brightness late at night. If you’re a night owl, this is a necessity.

Franz: A simple client for Mac which combines all sorts of apps like Whatsapp, Skype, Messenger, Hangouts, Slack and WeChat into one. I don’t approve on Shipwire, StitchLabs, and AppSumo, as they are too complicated.

Am I missing something? Be sure to let me know.

Before I forget, although there’s no specific app for this, one thing everyone should learn is how to say NO. No, wholesale is not an option.

International shipping? Forget about it. These two simple letters will save you so much time and effort, so force yourself to use them every time you feel like it.

Tinder for marketing? Just wait and see, my friends. It’s my own little secret tactics, but it’s fine, I’m ready to share it with the rest of the world.

On your Tinder profile, make sure to emphasize you’re the owner of that specific brand, and put up some photos to back it up. The next steps include upgrading to TinderPlus (only about $9.99 a month) and download Bonfire (which will set you back another $0.99).

I place Tinder location at 100 miles, and arrange Bonfire to 200 profiles at a time. By pressing like multiple times, you’ll get in touch with hundreds, possibly thousands of matches in no time.

I’ve personally used this tactic to gather over 9,000 matches, possibly dozens of sales, and it also scored me a bunch of impressions and hits. Sure, it also helps you meet girls, just in case you were wondering.

Want to hear the story about the dumbest thing I ever did? Just wait for it. For my friend’s birthday, I accidentally made a 99% off discount code.

How? I failed to uncheck the ‘display on detail page’, and the Internet blew up.

After it got posted on SlickDealsI got orders for 1,500 pairs of glasses in the span of 4 hours!

When I realized what just happened, Amazon already shipped everything out. Sure, I cried like a baby girl to support one time after another, but the deal was set in stone.

My mom and I tried to send out as many emails as possible to customers but got basically nothing to show for.

The results? A loss of $30,000 and my soul crushed!

Much to my surprise, due to the spike in my sales, Amazon kept sending customers to me, and the products started to sell like crazy.

I don’t know if I would keep pushing after that initial blow if it wasn’t for my support system, but luck finally turned on my side. Two whole years after that, I broke a million in sales numbers on Amazon alone.

The point is, even if you make a foolish mistake, there’s always a lesson to learn. Embrace the grind!

Are you still using your mom’s garage? Join the club!

There was a time where I had 1,100 kilograms show up at my mom’s place. The shipment included over 10,000 pairs of sunglasses that were packed for Amazon.

In case you missed it, I am a full-time traveler, and I run Woodies with a help of AmazonFBA, where they store and ship my orders.

Sure, I could ship these items directly to Amazon, but then again, I always check them out first, just in case.

Naturally, I wouldn’t want my supplier to know they can ship to Amazon themselves either, and also, Amazon rates are quite big, so make sure you trim it down as much as possible.

If you have a chance to lean of friends/family for inventory, don’t be afraid to ask. Your savings can be huge. And remember, the key to every successful entrepreneur is to own a box cutter and a tape gun. Gotta handle the fundamentals.

Ultimately, I hope my journey will inspire you to tackle your business and grab life by the throat.

You’ve seen that my journey was filled with different obstacles, and there were plenty of times where I wanted to give up, but I kept on pushing, and now, my company is recording over $1 million in sales annually!

Still, I haven’t run out of personal goals, nor do I see that moment ever happening, but if you told me I’d be here a few years ago, I’m not sure I would’ve believed you.

Shout-out to all entrepreneurs out there, keep doing your thing, and eventually, you’ll make it big.

15 Six-Figure Business Ideas You’ll Actually Want to Try

You’ll make tons of money if you do it right, no matter what business you start.

This might sound like a cliché, but if you can, just take a look at the “balance sheets” of some local businesses around you. Now, let’s make a bet.

An above-average bakery, plumbing business, or window cleaning service in your town is easily doing well above six figures.

And if we look at the top in any niche—whether it’s a restaurant, bakery, or roof repair—they’re all making over a million a year.

1. Consulting Services

If you’re really knowledgeable in a certain area, like finance, management, or tech, you could start a consulting business. Companies are always looking for experts who can help them do better, like making their operations smoother or solving tough problems.

As a consultant, you could charge a good amount for your advice, especially if you’ve got a solid background and can show that your tips really work.

2. Becoming A YouTuber

Watching big YouTubers like Mr.Beast really shows how powerful YouTube can be. It’s a business that actually can make you over $100k.

If you start a YouTube channel, you’d make vlogs or videos about stuff you’re into or good at. Say you love gaming. You could share your gameplay videos and let people see how awesome you are at it.

Or, if you’re great at something like playing a guitar, you could make videos teaching others how to play.

Usually, YouTubers make something like $0.25 to $4 for every 1000 views on their videos. How much they earn also depends on things like geography of your audience, how much they interact, and so on…

Sure, getting your YouTube channel off the ground can be tough at first. But once you start getting more followers, it can really pay off.

3. Blogging

You’re reading Six Figure Blog, where we understand that blogs today are what print used to be.

As a blogger, your goal is to create interesting stuff for people to read and get them to visit your site. If you want to start a blog, think about what you want to focus on. Sticking to one topic initially helps manage your content quality, making it easier to attract dedicated readers and establish a reliable income stream.

Blogging is a bit like YouTube in how you make money. The more people who visit your site, the more views you get. And the more views you have, the more your earnings start to grow. Once you hit a decent number of pageviews, you’ll see your income really start to take off.

Please note that blogging isn’t a quick or easy path to making money. It takes a lot of time and effort to build up to any significant earnings.

4. Vending Machines

To hit around $100k a year, you’d probably need about five machines. But here’s the thing: finding a great spot to put them is the toughest part. Maintenance isn’t as tricky as you might think, but you do have to watch out for vandalism.

People usually go for junk food and familiar brands, so if you stock your machines with these, you’re on the right track.

If you manage to place your machines in decent spots (not even the best, just good ones), you could see them grossing about $300 and netting around $240 each. So, if you’ve invested in a $2,000 machine, you’re looking at breaking even in about 8-9 months.

Keep in mind, though, that sales can dip in the winter. People don’t hang out as much when it’s cold, so expect maybe half the usual income in those months, or even less if it’s a snowy area. I don’t have snow where I am, but it’s still slower.

As for machines in so-so locations, they might gross about $100 and net $70. It’s all about the location and what you’re selling.

5. Dropshipping

I tried this myself—I spent $1,500 and made just $25. Like I said earlier, you’ll make money if you’re good at what you do.

I just don’t know how to work with Facebook ads, so my campaigns cost me a fortune, and the returns were practically zero.

Dropshipping is about helping businesses reach new customers on different platforms.

You act as a middleman. When someone buys a product from your online store, you order it from the supplier and use the customer’s shipping details. This way, the supplier handles the shipping, not you.

With dropshipping, you run an online store without the hassle of stocking up on products. You earn by connecting businesses with new customers, benefiting everyone involved

6. Freelance Writing

Freelance writing can be more profitable than you might think. For example, Tom Blake from This Online World earned $100,000 by writing for others.

The trick is, you’re not just charging for the writing. What you’re really getting paid for is all the knowledge and expertise you’ve built up over the years about your subject matter. That’s where the real value lies.

7. Sell Courses Online

If you’re selling a course online for $500, you only need 20 customers each month to make $10,000. Just like with freelance writing, you need deep knowledge or expertise that you can sell.

Good marketing skills are important to build a following. You’ve got to become sort of an influencer, someone who can effectively sell to their followers.

8. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is pretty straightforward: you promote a brand’s products and get people to click on product links. When someone buys something through your link, or sometimes just clicks on it, you get paid.

To get started, you’d reach out to a company that sells online. If they agree to work with you, they’ll give you a custom code.

You use this code when you promote their products, so they know the sales came from you. Then, when someone buys using your code, you earn money.

9. Plumbing Company

Here’s a business story from my town that might work in any other city.

There’s a plumbing company here that owns over 40 domain names related to plumbing. They’ve really nailed their online marketing strategy, dominating the first page of Google both through ads and organic search results.

Given their strong online presence, it’s hard to imagine they’re making anything less than seven figures.

10. Sell On Amazon

Some people, like our friend Cory Stout, make millions on Amazon, but most don’t. If we assume your gross margin is 10%, you’ll need to have $100k worth of goods sold at any given time in an Amazon fulfillment center to reach six figures.

If your shipping time to the Amazon warehouse is 15 days, you’d need two months’ worth of inventory, which amounts to $200k. This is a detail that many gurus selling courses on how to succeed on Amazon often leave out.

11. Electrician

Starting a small electrical business can definitely earn you $100k or more per year.

As an electrician running your own business, you have the opportunity to service a wide range of clients, from homeowners needing repairs to businesses requiring complex electrical installations.

12. ATM Machines Business

Similar to vending machines, this business can be quite profitable with relatively low maintenance, though securing prime locations is more challenging. To run a successful ATM business you need spots with high foot traffic.

To get these prime locations, you’ll either need a significant amount of cash to buy existing places or good connections to get new ones. The best locations are usually those with a constant flow of people, such as shopping centers, busy street corners, or warehouses with a lot of workers.

The initial investment can be substantial, but the potential for a steady income stream is there, especially in areas with high demand for cash access.

13. App Development

App development is a field with huge earning potential. You create mobile apps, either for clients or your own product.

Success hinges on user demand and effective monetization. Whether it’s a game, a productivity tool, or a lifestyle app, if your app meets a specific need or captures users’ interests, it can be highly profitable.

14. Real Estate Investment

Investing in real estate involves buying, renovating, and either selling or renting properties.

It requires market knowledge and some upfront capital, but can yield significant returns. Success in real estate often comes from understanding local market trends and managing properties efficiently.

15. IT and Cybersecurity Services

Businesses increasingly rely on technology, making IT and cybersecurity services essential. This field involves ensuring companies’ technological infrastructure is secure and functional.

With the rise in cyber threats, providing robust cybersecurity solutions can lead to substantial earnings. Profits come from both ongoing support contracts and emergency services.

13 Quick Cash Gigs To Make Some Extra Money

If so, you may be wondering how to find gigs near me.

The good news is, there are lots of places to find both short and long term gigs if you know where to look.

Here’s how to get started!

Our Favorite Side Hustles

Download these apps to make extra cash in your spare time. Get paid to complete surveys or take photos around your city.

1. Get a Side Hustle

Whether you are already employed full time and just want or need some extra income or you are unemployed or underemployed and need to make more, a side hustle can help you increase your earning potential. Here are just a few ways to earn additional income with side hustles and gigs.

  • Surveys: While you may not have enough time to work extra hours, can you answer questions at night or on the weekends while you’re home with the kids or watching TV? While surveys may not replace your day job or pay your mortgage, they can help provide extra income. Some of our favorites are Survey JunkieInbox Dollars and Swagbucks. Check out these best survey apps to make extra money
  • Focus Groups: Like sharing your opinions? Many companies and consumer agencies are looking for individuals to share feedback both in person and via online chat about different topics and products. I’ve done many of these and they can be a fun and profitable way to earn extra money in an hour or two.
  • Freelance Online: Do you have online skills like writing, web design, illustration, or graphic design? If so, you may just be able to pick up an odd job or two for some quick cash while working from home or your local coffee shop. Try freelance gig sites like Upwork, Fiverr, FlexJobs and Freelancer to earn extra income and you may also get some great portfolio pieces as well.

Other freelance services include Rumble and Newsflare for selling videos and Shutterstock for selling photographs.

2. Deliver for Dollars

If you are looking for a flexible gig where you can earn money and set your own hours, delivery drivers are the hot new side hustle!

The current situation has sent the need for home delivery sky high and there are a large number of companies looking for drivers.

If you have a reliable vehicle, car insurance, a valid driver’s license and a smartphone, making money can be as simple as submitting a short application, downloading an app and getting started.

Many of these companies allow you to pick up gigs as your schedule permits and you can earn money during your lunch break, while the kids are in school or in the evenings.

Some of our top picks for delivery gigs include the following:

  • DoorDash: One of the best known delivery gigs, DoorDash hires drivers known as Dashers to deliver restaurant meals to customers at home, work or on the go. Drivers use their smartphone app to find gigs near me and work whenever they are available, allowing a flexible schedule.
  • Instacart: This popular service offers gig workers two different ways to make money with both in-store shopping gigs and grocery delivery jobs. Full-service shoppers with Instacart both shop for customers orders and make deliveries. In-store shoppers for Instacart pick and prepare orders at retailers, getting them ready to be picked up.
  • Grubhub: This delivery service has been bringing take out to customers since 2004. Drivers for GrubHub can earn competitive pay and keep 100% of the tips earned on their deliveries.

Check out our article on apps like DoorDash that pay for more delivery gigs.

3. Rent Out a Room

Have an extra room or even an additional property? That extra space could be earning you extra income!

Consider renting out a room on Airbnb for some quick cash and even regular income.

4. Take Your Love of Pets on the Go

Love dogs and being outdoors?

If so, you might be able to walk dogs professionally! Rover.com is always looking for new individuals for dog walking, as well as pet sitting and pet boarding.

This is a flexible way to find gigs near me and to get your furry friend fix as well.

If you are interested you should check our guide on dog walking jobs.

5. Get Paid to Game

Love to play games? You could earn cash doing it!  Consider starting a Youtube or Twitch channel.

Once it grows, you may be able to earn advertising revenue. Mistplay also offers rewards for playing games.

6. Try a Temporary Agency

If you’re looking for work, but want something more flexible and short term, a temporary agency may be the way to go.

Many agencies even have online work from home jobs available.

7. Sell Your Stuff

Many of us have things lying around the house that we don’t need or use, and these can be turned into instant cash.

This can include everything from clothing, electronics, furniture, to collectibles. All you need to do is clean up these items, take some good photos, and list them for sale online.

There are many online platforms where you can sell your stuff. eBay is a well-known site where you can sell a wide variety of items. If you prefer to sell to local buyers, then Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist are excellent choices.

For clothing and accessories, Poshmark is a popular platform. If you have tech items to sell, Decluttr can offer you an immediate valuation.

8. House Cleaning

Cleaning homes can be a good way to make quick money. People pay for this service because they’re busy or just don’t want to do it themselves.

You can find jobs from friends, family, or online platforms like TaskRabbit. The best part is happy customers often ask you to come back, so you can make regular income.

9. Seasonal Retail Work

Shops often need extra workers during busy times like holidays or summer. Jobs might include being a cashier or stacking shelves.

The pay is usually okay, and you might even get a store discount. Look for these jobs on company websites or just walk into stores and ask.

10. Renting Out Your Car

If you own a car and don’t use it all the time, you can rent it out for extra cash. Websites like Turo and Getaround make this easy.

They take care of the details like insurance. All you have to do is make sure your car is clean and in good shape.

11. Car Washing

You can make quick cash washing cars. It’s a simple job, but if you do it well, word will spread and you’ll get more customers. Aim for weekends when people are free and thinking about car care.

12. Data Entry Jobs

Businesses always need help entering data into computers. You can find data entry gigs on job websites or by asking around. You can often work from home, which is a nice bonus.

13. Street Performing or Busking

Try street performing. Pick a spot where lots of people pass by and show off your skills. Just check first to see if you need a permit in your area. How much you make can vary, but if you’re good, you could end up with a decent

How to Find Quick Cash Gigs Near Me

Gig jobs are the hot new way to earn extra income, and more and more individuals are using gigs to help supplement their income.

If you would like to earn in your spare time without a full time commitment, finding gig jobs can be a beneficial way to make money.

Here are some of the places to find gig jobs in your area.

Search for and join marketplace groups for your area and keep an eye out on postings. I’ve found both in-person and online freelance gigs this way often, and it is an excellent way to find work to supplement your income.

Need a position where you work virtually from home?

Those are available too! Search for “remote” and “virtual” worker groups in your niche and keep an eye out for opportunities that fit your skills.

If you’re looking to pick up some extra hours of work to help pay bills or to supplement your day job, Craig’s List can be an excellent resource for finding temporary and part-time work.

While you will want to use a bit of caution before meeting unknown people in person, most postings are by local businesses needing help and many are willing to hire ASAP.

Make Your Own Gig

Want to start your own business? Have the desire to work hard and hustle? If so, you may be able to make your own gig.

If you’re handy and can do odd jobs there are lots of people who need your services. Do you have a mower, snow shovel or snow blower?

You can help out people and earn money at the same time. Use your skills to help you make money and promote your services on online groups as well as placing flyers on local billboards.

Your earning potential is huge and you can also set your own hours to work around another job or your family.

If you’re looking for labor gigs near me, there are lots of opportunities if you know where to look!

Side hustles are an easy way to supplement your income, and many of these gigs have flexible ways to earn money in your spare time.

13 Ways to Make Money in College Without a Job (Fast)

College can be a stressful time in and of itself—from cramming for exams to juggling classes, sleep, and socialization, it requires you to manage your time in a way you never really had to before.

For many people, college is also the first time they’ve had to live on their own and handle their own finances.

This can cause a lot of stress, especially at a time when cost of living is high. You may also be concerned about whittling down the mountain of student loans looming in your future.

However, traditional jobs often have rigid hours that don’t fit around your schedule—or they limit you to minimum wage—which is why the perfect solution is finding a flexible way to make money in college without a job.

Fortunately, there are many things college students can do to make money on the side in college.

Here, we’re going to explore how to make cash fast for college students with 13 ideas.

These quick ways to make money in college will let you work within your schedule so that you don’t have to miss classes to make rent.

Best Ways to Make Money in College (When You’re Broke)

They say it takes money to make money—but what if you don’t have any money to start with?

Luckily for you, there are several flexible ways to make money in college when you’re a broke college student and need money fast.

Later, we’ll also cover ideas to make money in college if you already have some savings you can leverage.

1. Take Surveys

This is one of the really easy ways to make money in college, but the tradeoff is that you probably won’t earn a lot with it.

If someone told you that you could make $500 a day taking surveys, you should know it is likely a scam.

That said, it definitely adds up over time, and occasionally you’ll find a survey with a pretty large payout.

You can find a variety of sites online that will pay you for your thoughts. I personally recommend Survey Junkie because I’ve tried it and find it safe and easy to use, and it usually has surveys available on any given day.

Doing a few surveys every day between classes or during lunch at the dining hall could earn you a not-insignificant chunk of cash over the long run.

If you can make even $10 a day online, that’s $3000 a month, which definitely isn’t chump change.

2. Sell Your Knowledge

Are you academically inclined or ahead of the curve in certain subjects? There are a lot of ways to make money during college by drawing on the hard work you’ve put into your studies.

A lot of people struggle with academic subjects, especially things like math and science, so if you’re good at these skills, you can potentially make a lot of money just by sharing the gift of knowledge with your classmates.

Spread the word with fliers around campus, posting on your college social media groups, and (of course) telling your friends.

This idea to make money in college isn’t limited to academic subjects, either. If you’re a good guitarist or pianist, you can give lessons to children and students near you.

Or, if you are experienced with a niche topic, you might also consider selling your knowledge in courses on sites like Skillshare and Udemy.

3. Freelance With Your Skills

This is how I got myself through college and started to build my freelance career, so I absolutely recommend giving it a shot.

I won’t claim it’s the easiest way to make money on the side in college—there are a lot of logistics involved like finding clients, writing proposals, meeting deadlines, managing taxes and invoices, and so on—but it does teach you real-world skills and helps you build valuable connections.

I still work for some of the clients I got in college!

There’s a large market of people on the internet who are looking to outsource tasks from programming to graphic design to content writing (who says English majors can’t make money?).

From freelance-specific sites like Fiverr and Freelancer all the way to broader communities like Reddit, there are plenty of opportunities for you to connect with these potential clients.

Over time, it’ll become even easier as you build a worthwhile portfolio that shows off everything you can do. Depending on your skill level, availability, and the rates your clients agree to, this is a potential way to make a lot of money in college.

Check out our guide on how to Make Money on Fiverr (A Step-by-Step Guide).

If you don’t have many marketable skills at the moment, take a look anyway and see what things you could learn in order to make money online. (Doing this research might even help you choose your elective classes, e.g. Intro to Programming or Writing for the Web.)

4. Sell Plasma

On one hand, it sounds a bit dystopian and vampiric that you can actually sell your blood to make money at school. But if you think about it another way, it’s a wonderful thing to do for others and a fairly universal way to make money (after all, blood is something that everybody has—and you’re young, you’ll make more).

Plasma is the viscous and clear part of the blood, and it’s an extremely helpful medical resource for people with various different chronic diseases.

Selling plasma is fairly painless, both literally and figuratively. Normally, you’ll go in and have a physical. After a short foray into your medical background, you’ll be seated in a room with a bunch of machines and other donors.

A small needle is inserted into your arm and then you just sit there for about an hour. Many plasma places will let you donate twice per week, and this can be an extra $50-$100 in your pocket depending on how much your local plasma clinics pay out.

Some people report bruising or tenderness at the needle site afterward, but it tends to get easier every time.

5. Make Use of Your Car

Driving jobs like deliveries can run up a car’s mileage, so they usually aren’t recommended for new cars because it reduces the value faster.

Many college students, though, drive a used car, which means that this might be a perfect flexible way to make money in college!

There are several app-based courier-style jobs that will pay you just to drive things from place to place in a timely fashion. Delivery apps for college students to make money this way include DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber EatsInstacart, and Shipt. (Check out these Apps like DoorDash to make extra money)

On average, people make about $10 to $20 an hour doing this sort of work. Of course, it’s more consistent in places where there are more people.

Since college towns usually have a pretty decent population, these can be a good way to make side cash—especially since there’s a sizeable market for food delivery from your tired (or drunk) fellow students.

6. Offer a Helpful Local Service

There’s always a demand for services like dog-walking and babysitting, especially in metropolitan areas. Try looking around for opportunities near you.

These don’t cost you anything, and with something like babysitting (or house or pet-sitting), it will often be a pretty low-profile job that effectively acts as downtime for you to study. Two birds with one stone!

Depending on your area, there will also generally be a lot of open opportunities for menial labor on sites like Facebook Marketplace. People will need things like brush removed from their property or their yard mowed, and they’re willing to pay you to do it. This sort of simple work can be a great opportunity for you to make some pocket money in college or to supplement a summer job.

You often don’t even have to market these services yourself, thanks to several gig-economy apps for college students to make money with these services. Look into TaskRabbit, Wag!, Rover, Gigwalk, Care.com, UrbanSitter, and Handy.

7. Teach English Online

In places where English isn’t widely spoken, many parents want their children to grow up with a grasp on the language so they have a leg up on the competition. This is where you come in.

If you’re a native English speaker, you can often find a position with one of many companies teaching English to children in places like China. Often these companies will have predefined lesson plans ready for you, which will make your job even easier.

While some of these jobs will require that you already have a bachelor’s degree, others (like QKids) do not. In the end, people are generally just looking for the best possible quality education for their children, and you just might be the person to give it to them.

8. Become a TA or RA

Campus life brings some of its own opportunities to make money in college without a job you have to work full-time. Two of the most famous on-campus roles are a TA (teaching assistant) or RA (resident assistant).

TAs help professors grade assignments, complete administrative work, monitor classrooms during tests, etc. If you’re close with any professors in your department, ask them if they’re looking for a teaching or research assistant.

RAs live in the dorms and are usually responsible for one floor. They coordinate activities, settle disputes, and make sure rules are being followed. As an RA, your payment may come in the form of free housing and food instead of straight-up cash.

More Easy Ways to Make Extra Money in College (When You Have a Little Already)

Remember our old phrase “it takes money to make money”? Well, let’s say that you do already have a little bit of start-up capital (and I mean a little bit; it doesn’t take much to get started with these methods). If you’re up for it, you can plant those small seeds and watch them grow with these next four ideas to earn money while in college full-time.

9. Buy and Flip Items

Flipping is a super simple concept that can net you a lot of profit. If you’ve ever heard that saying “buy low, sell high” about the stock market, flipping is sort of the same idea.

You look for things that are good deals, maybe do a little work to them to improve their condition, then sell them off for more than you paid for them. It’s a pretty simple concept, but it also requires background knowledge and good research and sales abilities.

The most foolproof way to manage flipping is to search for items you’re familiar with, be it video games, vintage clothing, or technology. Lots of people will sell things at yard sales (or on Craigslist, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace) without knowing how much they’re actually worth.

If you spot items at a price you think is undervalued, snap them up and relist them yourself on other platforms. Locally, you can also look for furniture that’s cheap or free, then paint or reupholster it and resell it. You can make a massive profit for only a little bit of your time and money.

10. Monetize a Craft

If you have an artistic flair, you can easily invest in skills like painting, calligraphy, sewing, or jewelry-making in order to create physical products that you can sell on storefronts such as Etsy.

In fact, with a little business savvy, you can build an entire brand based around the things that you’re selling and eventually turn it into your own company.

This one will take a little bit of time, and like any business, there’s an element of risk that you may lose your financial investment. But you don’t have to shell out a lot of money to try and get started.

Even something like $50 towards supplies can go a long way in terms of the products you’re making, especially when you consider that some things such as jewelry can have a pretty huge markup and still sell.

11. Be a Mobile Notary

Notaries make the world go ‘round, but they do it quietly in the background, which is why this idea to make money often slips under the radar.

Depending on the specific restrictions in your location, there’s a pretty good chance that you can get certified as a mobile notary for people who may have difficulty getting out of the house and signing things for themselves, like people with disabilities or the elderly.

Additionally, mobile notaries will often be called in for things like real estate dealings.

Becoming a notary is fairly simple and ultimately depends on your jurisdiction, but often only requires getting certified and maybe passing an exam or two.

Relatively speaking, it’s not too steep of a financial investment, usually costing only between $50 and $300 once everything is accounted for.

Most mobile notaries who make a solid plan for putting themselves out there will make that back within a couple of appointments.

12. Use Passive Income Techniques

If you have spare time and a little money to invest, you can use various different techniques to generate passive income (well, passive after you do the initial work to set it up). For example, you can start up a website full of reviews on a niche topic and do affiliate marketing, where people pay you to link their site or product in your articles and get conversions.

13. Start a Dropshipping Business

While this last idea is a bit more intense than the others, you can also look into dropshipping, where you act as a middleman between manufacturers and customers to sell products at a markup.

You can ship right from your manufacturer to your customer without ever having to handle shipping yourself. This is easy to set up using platforms like Shopify, but you’ll need to market the products and take on some financial risk if your items don’t sell.

Peter’s series on Amazon FBA is a good place to head for more information on setting up a dropshipping business.

As a broke student looking for quick ways to make money in college, the main thing you need is determination. What’s ultimately important is that you’re willing to put yourself out there and invest your time and effort to build a variety of income streams. After all, opportunities are all around, and it’s up to you to seize them.

1. Online surveys

Yep, I’m well aware that most people hate when these annoying things pop up on a website.

However, certain survey websites will award you for your troubles, whether through cash or most likely, Amazon gift cards.

Doing surveys is a legitimate way to make money from home without any investment, especially for younger people with plenty of time to spare and no money to invest.

People give away all kinds of stuff on Craigslist and people pay ridiculously high prices for all kinds of stuff on eBay and Facebook Marketplace.

The easiest money of your life is waiting for you.

Go to Craigslist. In the “for sale” section, click on “free.” Go pick up all the stuff people are just giving away for free and post it on eBay and Facebook Marketplace for $10.

Rewarded Play and Mistplay are a free Android apps that rewards users with free gift cards for playing a variety of mobile games.

The concept behind these apps is really simple: just download the app, select games from the Mixlist to play, and start earning points in the background.

Points can be redeemed for a wide variety of gift cards, and they constantly updates its list of games.

This won’t make you rich or revolutionize your finances, but if you love mobile gaming, there’s no reason not to earn some easy passive income.

5. Become a freelancer

In case you have a particular skill that others might need, or if you’re simply capable of sitting behind the computer screen doing data entry for a couple of hours every day, you might want to consider becoming a freelancer.

There are plenty of websites to find remote jobs, but my suggestion would be the Upwork platform, as it has the largest collection of online gigs available each and every day.

Still, don’t focus on strictly one platform, at least not in the beginning. Register on Fiverr, and test your luck there as well. Stick to it long enough, and you’ll find success sooner rather than later.

Don’t know where to start? Learn WordPress web design and make websites for people that aren’t tech-savvy.

Don’t have time? Here’s an easy gig to make $10 a day online. Remove backgrounds from people’s images. All you have to do is to upload an image to remove.bg and the site will remove the background for you. Fiverr sellers charge $5-10 for that quick job. Try with your own image, you can do it in 10 seconds or less.

6. Stock photography

If you’ve been browsing the internet long enough, I can almost guarantee that you ran into one of the websites selling stock photography sometime in the past.

Have you ever considered making your contribution to their ever-growing collection?

If you have a decent camera, and some talent, you can climb the ladder quicker than you think. When that happens, you will start making some sweet profit off of royalties alone.

Check out Shutterstock and get started.

7. Sell your own videos

Don’t get me wrong, you should not buy an expensive camera and pretend to be the new Steven Spielberg.

Instead, capturing a couple of cute videos of your pets and children will be a fine place to start.

If one of your videos goes viral, you’ll be laughing at the doubters all the way to the bank.

8. Become a virtual assistant

More and more high-end executives are willing to hire remote workers.

They aren’t doing it for the kindness of their hearts, though, as this move saves a lot of dollars for companies. Still, this should not concern you in the slightest.

If anything, it gives you an opportunity to earn a lot of money with no investments necessary, provided you already have a computer and a steady internet connection.

Be careful though, this job is only for those responsible individuals. If you slack off, you won’t last too long in this business.

9. Get paid to watch videos, video ads and tv

Get paid to watch videos and browse away as much as you’d like, and get rewarded for doing so. It’s a perfect way to earn money online without investment?

All you have to do is use Swagbucks or InboxDollars search engine, which is not too bad, and watch some video ads while you’re there.

You’ll hardly become a millionaire from doing so, but something beats nothing any day of the week, as far as I’m concerned.

10. Social media manager

The great thing about this job is that anyone can do it and make money from home.

However, the first thing you need to do is educate yourself on the topic.

Luckily, there are tons of free and quite useful content on the topic to be found online.

Most of it comes in the form of eBooks and publications which aren’t free, but there are also some pretty good YouTube channels out there, dealing with the topic.

After the first step is complete, offer your services to local businesses, even on a trial basis, and prove your worth. They’ll quickly realize just how useful a social media manager can be to their work.

11. Interpreter

If you are bi-lingual look into interpreting for the court system in your state. In time you can expand to all states. You can opt for remote interpreting only which is done via Zoom or telephone or you can go in person. Pays $50-$80 an hour depending on the language.

You accept or decline assignments according to your schedule. Most hearings will last under 30 minutes and you get paid a minimum of 2 hours.

12. YouTube

Ever wondered how some of your favorite content creators were able to make a living off of YouTube alone?

Stop wondering, and join that circle.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and even the biggest channels with millions of subscribers used to be stuck at ground zero, much like you at the moment.

Select a niche that you find fitting, and hone your craft. Subscribers will come sooner or later.

These days, it seems like everyone has a blog.

Why wouldn’t they?

Ultimately, it costs close to nothing to open it, and it can be a tremendous value for your pent up creativity.

In case you aren’t willing to invest even that tiny amount, you can always write as a ghostwriter for someone else, just to get your feet wet.

Even if it doesn’t gain much following, you will learn how to better express yourself, which will also help in your everyday life. Of course, if you make it big, you will be able to turn it into a career.

14. Micro jobs

As the name itself suggests, these gigs encompass a whole series of smaller tasks that need to be done.

For instance, some websites are willing to reward you for promoting their content in the form of likes and shares, or they might encourage you to leave comments on their social media or blog posts.

You might also be asked to rate certain apps or leave positive reviews that other users can see.

There are literally millions of micro jobs available every day, and most of them are legit ways to make money from home.

All you have to do is look for them.

15. User testing

You can design the greatest-looking website in the world, but if it’s not user-friendly, you’ll get nowhere fast.

The trouble is, when you design a website, you cannot really be objective about it.

That’s why companies hire users to test their pages and see whether or not improvements can be made.

Users are asked to leave a review or two whenever they stumble upon something that seems odd or out of place. Do you think you’d be able to do it?

17. Food delivery

First of all, let’s get one thing out of the way. I’m well aware that you need to own a car for this job to rank on the list, so I’m taking that as a given.

In case you enjoy just driving around and cruising all day long, you can implement a chore around it, and turn your hobby into a profit. Delivering food is a simple way to make money without a job.

When it comes down to it, all you have to do is go to the restaurant, pick up a package and deliver it to the given address.

For such a mindless task, the pay is rather nice, being that you can earn as much as $25 an hour this way. Not too shabby.

18. Dog Walking

Is there a better job for you animal lovers?

Don’t be surprised that this odd job is in such high demand. It might seem weird that people aren’t willing to walk their dogs, but most business-minded individuals nowadays have no time left on their schedule for this fun activity.

Besides making some money without spending any, and meeting a couple of new furry friends, you will also get a chance to enjoy some physical activity outdoors.

19. Airbnb

Let’s face the truth guys, most of us have a free room in our house that we use as storage space.

These things get so cluttered along the way that it becomes mission impossible to find the item you so desperately need anyway.

So, what can you do to turn this story into a success?

Just clean out all the junk, throw away or sell half of it which you never get a chance to use anyway, and list the room on Airbnb.

Chances are that you won’t have to invest a single dime in the process too!

Stop procrastinating and start maximizing your earning potential.

20. Make candles

Why buy new candles when you can make ones with just a tiny bit of effort? It doesn’t take long to hone this skill either.

With a couple of days of trial and error, you’ll master it in no time. Besides saving a few bucks yourself, you can then resell these homemade candles, and turn in some decent profit.

This is especially true if you educate yourself on design, thus branding your products even further.

22. Handyman services

It’s fair to say that society is more technologically advanced now than at any time in the past. From the looks of things, this trend will only continue in the future.

However, the truth is that in the process, most people have completely drifted away from any handyman work, and they leave that job to the professionals.

Still, there is a middle slot there to be filled. It can be occupied by someone who has the necessary skill but isn’t that expensive. Could that someone be you?

23. Provide neighborhood tech support

On the other side of the spectrum, there are tons of elderly people who just cannot seem to get used to the overwhelming technology consuming their lives.

Their computers and other gadgets never seem to work properly and are in constant need of fixing. Most of the time, it’s a simple fix, such as installing a driver or two.

What do rich people do when they leave on holiday?

Do they just leave their house empty and vulnerable to getting robbed?

Nope, they usually hire a trustworthy person to take care of their possessions while they are gone and that’s your chance to make some money on the side.

You get a chance to sleep in their luxury home, plus get rewarded a decent amount of cash for your efforts. What’s not to like?

IMO, this is a great way for college students to make money.

26. Pet sitting

In case you were wondering how to make money as a kid, the answer is pet sitting.

OK, this might not be as glamorous as the previously mentioned gig, but it’s still pretty damn awesome!

29. Uber/Lyft

Install one or both of these apps and use them from time to time. What do I mean by that?

Well, I don’t necessarily think that this would be a good career choice, but if you manage to combine it with your work, go ahead and do it.

For instance, if you need to travel long distances to work every day, pick up some people along the way, and cover your gas expenses at the very least.

30. Get paid to click and post links

Even people who aren’t at all computer savvy know how to click a mouse. If not, they will learn it in a second.

That’s all you need to know in order to earn some cash.

There are literally hundreds of websites in need of workers who will follow instructions and click on the promoted content and get paid for posting links.

With an average pay of $0.04 per single click, it seems like a decent option for teenagers to earn money.

Easy online job without investment!
